gearbox inspection. took apart the transmission to check for issues.
this is after hours of running everything is PLA and PLA+ with just the pinion made from PC Blend because of the high heat.

Notes: some Charing on the White hatchbox PLA i used for the motor mount.
PC Blend pinion gear shows no issues and its been through a lot of heat cycles now.
No gear wear that i can see on the main bevel nor the internals.
CVDs show little wear they have some compression where they are forced against the 2mm Pivot rods. these are PLA+ as well.

Hi, amazing modifications. Where can we found STLs for your modifications?

For author of modification parts or anyone else:

1. Servo: can I use instead "Corona DS-843MG" other servo, like "ES08MA II (Size: 23x11.5x24mm)", which is a little wider (will it fit to modified servo housing)

2. I didn't found any picture with Tamiya (8x Tamiya 4mm) Ball joints. Can you share any of it and maybe part number from Tamiya?

3. did you also used a servo for door?

tnx

PS

4. Which settings did you changed on trackstar motor, that you needed ESD programmer? Can' you change that only with transmitter (throttle up-down and sounds...)... Do you know for any other cheaper motor brushless+ESC setup?

i don't know, you will have to see if it fits in the provided STLs or requires modification. the servo position is important because the tolerance of the rack and gears is exact. if the servo has everything in a slightly different position then the steering rack will bind or be impossible to assemble. there is room for a deeper servo but i have no idea if any other servos have the same spline alignment on the body.

Tamiya part number 50590

I did not use a servo. The servo mechanicals for the door are not really finished i didn't touch that area i left it up to the next person that wanted to play with the original files OLLE made.

the default settings for the throttle punch and brake are horrible. you basically have zero brakes with the default settings.
you will need the programmer as its the only way to access the programable features of that ESC.

otherwise you can find another style of ESC and motor as long as the motor is 540 sized to fit into the motor pod of the gearbox.
i re-used the ESC and Motor Olle Recommended with the original build as many of the people on here have already built the chassis using Olle's recommendations.

For ESC you've changed settings to which values?

• Initial Brake Force: 5%, 13%, 21%, 29% (default value 5%)
• Start Modes (also called "Punch"): Soft, Medium, Aggressive (default value Medium)
• Initial Drag Brake Force: 100%, 90%, 80%, 70% (default value 100%)
• Maximum Reverse Force: 100%, 75%, 50% (default value 50%)
