Hi all creators and model builders! Here you will be able to follow my construction of this fantastically well-developed model of CB90.
I am a beginner in building models and also RC steering, but i have a great interest in technology and have a lot of experience in engines and technology through my profession in everyday life.
I am more than happy to accept tips and tricks through my construction.

Enjoy!

Hey!
I start to approach the moment where I have to strengthen the hull. I am thinking of reinforcing it with either carbon fiber or fiberglass. my question to you is what do you recommend? what is easiest to work with for a beginner? which polyester plastic to use that cures well and is easy to sand? I prefer to use carbon fiber as it is light and strong. then of course it sounds a bit cool that the hull is reinforced with carbon fiber!

hi,

For my prototype I used strips of thin carbon fiber cloth on the inside of the hull only where the sections are bonded together, and I actually bonded it with CA-glue! :)
If you want it to be really sturdy I would put a layer of fiberglass or carbon fiber cloth on the outside of the hull and use laminating epoxy, but that would mean that you will need to do more sanding, but it would for sure result in a stronger hull.

If I run aground with mine it would probably crack in the printing lines and sink fast. :)

Today was the day.
Today I reinforced the hull with fine fiberglass fabric and epoxy. The reason why I ended up using fiberglass is that it is easier to grind and shape over time. Price plays a big role. Everything went well and now 24 hours of curing is waiting for the end result. Then many hours of grinding ahead..

Today there has been detail work on the schedule.
The hardening of the hull went excellent and just as Olle wrote. It is solid as a rock.
But a lot of finishing work remains before plastic primer and painting can take place.

Short update. Had a break in the construction for a few weeks but this weekend I have sanded the hull which is soon ready for filler primer!
Some rc parts have appeared as well. Will be interesting to install it and make it work.
