Re: Real-time throttle

Update to this.

I've got this working in a printed housing with one of the on board buttons set to deep sleep the board when pressed, wake is just pressing reset.

Re: Modified remote - single board

That looks awesome! I'd like to do some larger stuff but I've only got an Ender with a 15x15x20 print volume. I'm looking at ways to split prints neatly. Hide joins, but also make them strong for chassis parts. The controller idea sounds great, it's getting close to DCC! I was looking at a rotary en...

Real-time throttle

I'ev been working on a more responsive throttle controller, and after finding a post on making an RC car controlled by a pair of ESP8266 I've mashed up some code. It's messy with random extra bits from th eprojects I gathered code from so it needs a good tidy, however it does include commented lines...

Re: Modified remote - single board

Yeah I've already managed to do a little with changing for different motor drivers and the TTGO board.

This is the thread I saw about using and ESP8266 as a WiFi DCC decoder for o gauge.

Re: Modified remote - single board

That bogie looks impressive. Is there any specific advantage to that gearing compared to having the motor vertical? I only know very basic Arduino stuff so have been able to make adjustments, but no idea where to start with changing it further! When I was searching I did come across a thread on rmwe...

My small UK locos

Since discovering this system, I've been working on my own UK engines, they're all still under varying levels of completionn so not ready to share quite yet. I've tried to work in a standard set of components, so they all use a Wemos D1 mini, DRV8833 and a generic yellow gearbox motor that I got 10 ...

Re: Modified remote - single board

I bought them a while backbecause they looked useful, but had no plan for them. They are ideal for this remote control though, I'm working on a housing to print, I'll uploas that when it's ready. Any ideas on a more "live" speed control? I'm guessing it's going to be case of constantly sending a spe...

Re: Modified remote - single board

Ok it's all working but I've noticed you have to send the direction command whenever you change speed. So either need something that checks for changes and sends speed commands constantly, or maybe change theain controls to a rotary encoder where each click sends the change. Click can be stop. Addin...

Modified remote - single board

Hi! I've updated the code to work on the TTGO TFT board, it's a cheap ESP32 board with 1.14" TFT, USB C and built in Lipo charging. It comes with a battery lead to connect to a lipo cell and then handles charging itself. https://www.aliexpress.com/i/4000111532519.html I've no potentiometers, some sh...
