Steam engine designs?

Hello there, I'm in the process of printing and assembling the tracks and a few of the cars for my son (4 yr old). I really, really appreciate the amazing work you've done with this system and I am very thankful for you to share it with us all. I was wondering if anybody created a steam locomotive m...

Re: Freight platform assembly

Follow up question about the coupler: I printed "coupler_v2.stl" (which is shown in your picture above) but I don't know what to do with "coupler_body" and "coupler_arm". Where do they go and how to you connect the freight car to the engine (I printed the EMD GP38)?

Thanks!

Freight platform assembly

Hi there! I'm trying to build the freight car and I printed the chassis. I want to print the bogey and the couplers but it's not clear how many I need and how they come together. This is the project: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2152351 The pictures on the page are not very clear. Can you pleas...

Arc bridge and slope

Hi there, I'm trying to print the Arc bridge (which is very beautiful BTW, thank you for doing this) and I have a question about how the bridge and the tracks come together. The current tracks are pretty stiff and very straight (work well on flat surfaces). Where the slope starts and the tracks need...

Re: Building instructions

I see. So the rear bogie is supposed to "hang off" the main chassis through the ball joint? I wasn't sure if the long screw marked "M2x12 countersunk" that goes through the ball joint piece was supposed to also go through the chassis. I guess I should have realized that it is not, otherwise you woul...

Re: Building instructions

Status report: I was able to assemble the front bogie and it works nicely. However the back one is a nightmare. I even printed it twice thinking that I had some tolerance problems with my first print. I didn't even attempt the upper part of the bogie, only the lower part. The problem is that the mec...

Re: Building instructions

Olle, many many thanks for answering my questions promptly and with such great detail! Indeed I forgot about the ball bearings! Things make more sense now! I hope to complete this shortly and will post a picture of my build!

Re: Building instructions

Many many thanks Olle for the picture, it surely helps! I don't have as much experience with models and when things are not obvious I tend to question what I'm doing... Some additional questions I have: 1. The slot in the bogie frame where the wheel axle goes doesn't have any notch or anything to st...
